Covenant and Contract
In 1 Corinthians 1:9 Paul sates that “God is faithful, by whom you were called into the fellowship of his Son, Jesus Christ our Lord.”
There is great news in this life. God is faithful. We don’t need to fret about our righteousness to save us, nor worry that we have fallen out of the good graces of God. Scripture never shows that God is faithful as long as we are faithful. Scripture simply states that God is faithful. He will keep His promise.
Not only is God faithful, but His promise is His commitment to us purchased by his Son Jesus Christ. We have been brought into a perfect relationship with God, and that relationship is not upheld by our ability to be faithful, but it is found in God’s perfect promise.
Rejoice today! Rejoice because God gives grace, He gives peace, and He gives mercy. Rejoice because His grace, peace, and mercy come from His perfect commitment upheld by His steadfast will, secured in His perfect sacrifice.
